PARK CITY, UTAH – Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church is launching a fundraising initiative to support safe water access for communities in Nicaragua through HydroLOGICA, a company dedicated to technical excellence in water infrastructure development.

HydroLOGICA was co-founded by Michael Montgomery, a member of Shepherd of the Mountains and a renowned expert in the oil and gas industry. Montgomery previously founded WEST Engineering, a company specializing in risk management and critical training in offshore drilling. After selling WEST in 2012, he turned his attention to the global water crisis, applying his expertise to ensure communities around the world could access safe drinking water.

"HydroLOGICA was born from a desire to see communities gain access to clean water while proving that technical excellence is possible, even in the most challenging environments," said Montgomery. "We provide world-class water services that not only support economic development but also dramatically reduce the number of people living without clean water."

Shepherd of the Mountains will raise funds to support HydroLOGICA’s efforts in Nicaragua, where the organization is headquartered. HydroLOGICA partners with local churches and pastors to infuse Christian faith into their work, ensuring that both physical and spiritual needs are met within the communities they serve.

"Access to safe water is fundamental to health and human dignity," said Pastor Derek Fossey of Shepherd of the Mountains. "By supporting HydroLOGICA, we are living out our faith and making a tangible difference in the lives of families who lack this basic necessity."

The fundraising effort will directly contribute to drilling wells, training local technicians, and implementing sustainable water solutions in rural areas of Nicaragua. Members of the church and the wider Park City community are invited to participate in this mission by donating or getting involved in awareness efforts.
